Cupping Therapy

Detoxify · Relieve · Restore

A traditional wellness therapy traditionally associated with supporting circulation, comfort, and a sense of wellbeing.

Cupping Therapy

What is Cupping Therapy?

Cupping therapy is one of the world's oldest wellness modalities, used for thousands of years in Chinese, Arabic, and Unani traditions. It involves placing specially designed cups on the skin and creating a vacuum — either through heat or mechanical suction — that draws the skin and superficial muscle layer upward into the cup. This negative pressure is traditionally associated with a therapeutic effect on muscles, fascia, and underlying tissues.

At SP Homeo Varma Clinic, we use both dry cupping (pure suction) and wet cupping techniques. The choice of method depends on your specific condition. Sessions are carefully administered by trained therapists who monitor your skin response throughout the treatment to ensure safety and maximum benefit.

How It Works

1

Consultation & Preparation

Review of your health condition and identification of target treatment areas.

2

Cup Placement

Cups are positioned on specific points along the back, shoulders, or affected areas.

3

Suction & Treatment

Suction is applied for 10–20 minutes. You may experience a warm, pulling sensation — most patients find it relaxing.

4

Post-treatment Care

Guidance on hydration, rest, and skin care to maximise the benefits of the session.

Temporary circular marks (bruise-like discoloration) on the skin are normal and typically fade within 3–7 days. They are a sign of toxin release, not damage. We recommend a course of 4–6 sessions.
